Water has a high surface tension, which means it tends to form large beads rather than spread evenly across these surfaces. Whether using water alone or a water-based wash, the effectiveness of the rinse depends largely on how well it can interact with the surface of the produce.

We use food-grade, plant-derived lipids to do the work. Rather than adding chemicals to your produce, we've rearranged plant fats so they interact better with water, attracting waxes, oils and residues, and carrying them away on the rinse.

Our concentrated oil-based system was designed with the natural waxy surface of produce in mind. Unlike water-based formulations, it begins with food-grade plant lipids that interact with water and the waxy surface of fruit and vegetables during washing.
Because there is no water in the bottle, there is no need for the preservatives commonly found in water-based formulations, which are often used to maintain shelf stability and help prevent microbial growth over time.
Instead, Plantaera is activated only when you need it. Simply add water when you're ready to use it. One pump per litre creates a concentrated wash that delivers up to 150 washes from a single bottle.
